Whales...playing in their ocean playground

The whales have been here for awhile, but have been holding on posting about it. I've been trying to get a picture, but try as I might, it's seemingly impossible to get a good one (or any kind for that matter). I've been trying for three years now....with not much luck.

Sooo....y'all will have to take my word for it....there are whales in them there waters!!!!!

And.....they are just spectacular to watch!! I love waking in the morning to see them spouting and bridging the surface of the ocean. Quite often, there are many all across our little area of the ocean. While there are many bridging...there are also many just spouting. So wonderful to be able to witness them, in their natural habitat...from our deck our or our bench at the back...and all for free.

Each day is a totally new, breath taking sight and they never fail to amaze us with their shows. Whether it's in the early morning with sun gleaming off of the ocean, or later in the afternoon when the sun has moved off of the water....each is equally as magnificent. We feel so totally blessed to be able to watch this.

The other morning was one such day...the sun was shining brightly and the ocean sparkling in its presence. As the whales bridged the ocean surface...the sun illuminated the dark, wet skin of the whales...honestly, it looked like sparkling bright lights in the ocean. Simply beautiful.

At any rate....here are my less than stellar photos. If you click them, they will enlarge....but keep in mind...they simply do not do justice to the actual view.

This is the best I've been able to get so far....

If you enlarge this one, and look to the right of the pic (just over top of the tree...you can see a spout)

Same here...

And here again...

Hmm....didn't think I'd post pictures without including a couple of sun-shining-on- the-ocean ones, did you? ;)

Seagulls feeding on the Capelin...a good sign there are whales there feeding on them as well...

Bridgette and Brittney, sitting on our bench at 'the point' (a high spot in our back yard which we've dubbed 'the point' -- more explaining pictures here -- scroll down to the ones with the red arrows )...watching for whales...

Another spout...
